  • Wine tasting on horseback with Paradise Stables.  Mon – Sat:      9:00 – 13:30 or 13:30 – 18:00. Please book in advance.(Must do)
  • Join our sister restaurant, LA BRASSERIE, for a relaxed evening with live Jazz music by ‘Cape Dutch Connection’ and tables outside.  Every Friday night from 30th October 2009 until 2nd April 2010 17:30 – 20:30.  Please book at reception. (Must do)
 
  •  Visit Haute Cabrière, within walking distance from us, for a wine tasting.

      Haute Cabrière specialises in Method Cap Classic.     

  • Franschhoek Pass Winery is also within walking distance, with cellar tours & tastings by appointment.  They produce the beautiful Morena Brut Rose Sparkling Wine.
  • Dieu Donné Restaurant & Winery also hosts a micro beer brewery!
  • Book a guided tour of the winelands in the company of experienced guides from the local community in Franschhoek.  Enquire at reception.
  • Rent a Mountain Bike from Manic Cycles in town or book a guided tour.
  • Chocolate tasting at the Huguenot Chocolat Factory, chocolate making demonstration by appointment for groups of four and more. (Must do)
  • “Art & About’’ route to all the Galleries in Franschhoek.

  • The Franschhoek Heritage Walk.  Maps are on sale at the Tourist Information Office.
  • Visit the Huguenot Monument & Museum, tickets can be purchased on arrival; Opening times: 9:00–17:00 Mon–Sat & 14:00–17:00 on Sundays.
  • Fly fishing at La Ferme.  Enquire at reception for more details.
  • Bowls on the Franschhoek Bowling Green (enquiries at the Museum).
  • If you would like to play a round of tennis at the Village Tennis Club, please enquire at reception.
  • Paragliding from the Franschhoek Pass, weather permitted and has to booked in advance.
  • Visit the Farmers Market every Saturday from 9:00 – 12:00 next to the Church in the main road during the summer season.
  • Enjoy a glass of wine while watching a movie at The Screening Room, La Quartier Francais’s small, intimate cinema.  Enquire at  reception. (Must do)

  • L’Ormarans wine estate offers a classic car museum.
  • Solms Delta is a wine estate with an archeological site where you can read about the history of slavery. (Must do)
  • Wine and Goats cheese tasting at Fairview (Paarl).
  • Visit the Venetian style glass blowing studio at Seidelberg Wine Estate.  De Leuwen Jagt Restaurant specialises in Cape Malay Cousine.
  • For a picnic you can book a basket at Allee Blue, Rickety Bridge, Boschendal or  Warwick Wine Estate.  They do require at least 24hrs notice.
  • Play golf at Boschenmeer or Pearl Valley en route to Paarl.
